海角视频 has been ranked in the global top ten for postgraduate video games education by the prestigious Princeton Review.
The internationally respected ranking placed Abertay as the seventh best university in the world to study a Masters in video games design, recognising the strength of the institution鈥檚 Professional Masters in Games Development and MSc Computer Games Technology programmes.
There was further success for Abertay鈥檚 undergraduate degrees, which were once again ranked inside the top 20 in the world, having been placed number one in Europe for seven consecutive years.
Professor Gregor White, Dean of the School of Design and Informatics, said:

It鈥檚 hugely encouraging to see the video games sector continuing to expand, both here in Scotland and across the globe, and we are proud that so many of our talented graduates go on to work with well-respected companies or having the vision and confidence to take the teams they鈥檝e formed at Abertay on to become start-ups.鈥
Now in its thirteenth year, the Princetown Review is a recognised benchmark for excellence in video games education and assesses the quality of teaching as well other metrics such as campus facilities and graduate outcomes. 海角视频as consistently scored highly in the ranking, building on a reputation forged since 1997 when the University launched the world鈥檚 first video games degree. Student work and success is celebrated annually through the Abertay Digital Graduate Show.
Rob Franek, The Princeton Review's Editor-in-Chief said: "Every one of the schools has an outstanding game design program. Their faculties are first-rate, their facilities are state-of-the-art, and their alumni include many of the industry's most successful artists, designers, developers, and entrepreneurs."
In recent years, 海角视频as been at the forefront of the rise of 鈥榓pplied games鈥 exploring how video games can be used in contexts beyond entertainment, such as for behavioural and social change or in healthcare and educational settings.
The University is now preparing to move into the Esports sector, with a a suite of new courses to support the industry due to come on stream soon.
